A very fast PC for office work
If you want high performance for office productivity and need to run demanding software, this PC system is the answer. There are a number of components which have been improved compared with the systems lower down our range, many of which are detailed below:
The chassis is the Corsair 3000D AIRFLOW Case. It has a solid construction with high airflow for excellent cooling. The sleek and simple construction blends well into a stylish office environment. Whilst not totally silent, noise is kept to a minimum. This chassis also includes two low noise cooling fans, one front mounted and one rear. There is also plenty of space for additional HDD or SSD storage with the system being able to host up to 6 drives in total.
The processor used is the Intel Core i9-14900K. This is the 14th generation chip and is designed for high performance computing. The ‘K’ in the part number denotes that this item has much higher power headroom at 253w compared with the 219w for non ‘K’ chips and it also runs at higher clock speeds as standard. The higher power envelope allows this processor to operate at higher turbo speeds without hitting power limits and performance is significantly enhanced.
The motherboard is upgraded to the Z790 chipset. This offers more features including more USB ports, greater PCIe lanes for far higher throughput for high performance systems, better CPU power phase design for better stability under load, overclocking ability, higher M.2 PCIe storage bandwidth and also compatibility with far faster memory speeds.
The CPU cooler is also upgraded with the inclusion of the Be Quiet! Pure Loop Liquid cooler. Performance is significantly better than that from the standard air coolers and can be also a lot quieter too. The benefit of utilising a high performance cooler is that the CPU is more likely to be able to operate at (or close to) its maximum turbo frequency for extended periods of time. With a standard cooler, the CPU clock speed will increase to its maximum turbo speed only for short periods of time because the CPU will reach its thermal limit.
